Last term Ash class were learning about Kings and Queens and during their first art session, they used drawing ink to experiment with shape and pattern in their sketchbooks before creating their own clay sculptures of Pablo Picasso’s famous King and Queen vases in session two.
Today, they added colour by painting their sculptures with acrylic paint, carefully mixing the appropriate shades and adding the patterns and details. Joseph enjoyed painting with acrylic paint, especially the black, as it was ‘shiny’ and covered the clay well.
In the final session the children will add the finishing touches, the face and crown of their King and Queen before evaluating their artwork and celebrating what went well.
