On Thursday 11th July, the whole school were treated to an amazing Ukulele concert by years 3 and 4 pupils and staff. The pupils and staff had a total of 9 lessons led by Danny Hanson, a Music Tutor from Southwark Music Service. The main chords they learnt were ‘C F G7 and A’. The pupils and staff learnt a range of songs as well as games that were fun and inclusive.
Year 3 pupils and staff performed the following songs:
• Song 1: Big ship sails
• Song 2: Wild Mountain Thyme
• Song 3: Mrs Macaroni
• Song 4: Next to me
• Song 5: Thunder
Year 4 pupils and staff performed the following songs:
• Song 1 – Can’t stop the Feeling
• Song 2 – John Kanaka
• Song 3 – Jambo Bwana
• Song 4 – Respect
Both year groups and staff collectively performed the Makaton song ‘Good afternoon’. Our pupils and staff are incredibly talented and have gained so much skills as well as confidence now having learned to play the Ukulele. Enjoy the video!
