In RE the children learnt about the Jewish festival of Sukkot by building and decorating their own sukkah.
They discovered that Sukkot reminds Jewish people of the shelters the Israelites lived in during their journey through the desert. The children talked about why it was important to keep the customs of Sukkot alive, including remembering history, spending time with family, and being thankful. They used colourful paper, leaves, and material and worked as a team to create their own special sukkah. Miss Linda also made her own mini version of a sukkah.
