On Monday 30th September, St Paul’s Primary School welcomed Patrice Augustus-Brown; a very special guest and author of her fabulous book entitled “Sky Up”, illustrated by Fiona Morrison.
Sky Up is a wonderful true story about a young boy named Joziah, who is Patrice’s’ Son. One day, the question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” was put to young Joziah. When Joziah is set a homework task to explore this question, he finds himself overwhelmed and unsure of where to start. What he does know is that he wants to be ‘something different, something great, something outstanding!’ Who would have thought that a day at his dad’s barbershop would lead him to the answer he needs?
Discover how the inspirational conversations with the wonderful people Joziah meets teaches him valuable lessons that he will carry with him for the rest of his life. Sky Up! is a heart-warming, beautifully illustrated story. It will inspire children with powerful positive messages, introduce them to the world of entrepreneurship and encourage discussion around the vast opportunities for their future, if they dare to dream!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our very special guest Patrice for taking the time to visit us. The children really enjoyed your book and hope that you and your son will come and see us again soon. We took some pictures of the visit, which can be seen in the gallery below.
