This week, Redwood Class visited the Mandir, which is a Hindu temple. The Mandir is a masterpiece of traditional Hindu design and exquisite workmanship that rises serenely amid London’s iconic skyline. Using 5,000 tonnes of Italian Carrara and Indian Ambaji marble and the finest Bulgarian limestone, it was hand-carved in India before being assembled in London.
The visit was part of our RE unit on Hinduism. Throughout the day, the children learnt about the many aspects of this ancient religion and how people worship. They also learnt about this magnificent building and how it came together.
