After creating their sketch of the outside area and learning some shading techniques in the last lesson, the children appraised their work and how they could improve it.

They investigated the medium charcoal, learnt about smudging and blending and explored mark making in their sketchbooks. We discussed how to show texture and the children started to create their final piece using all the skills they have learned so far.
