Maple class have been learning about the weather and during their DT lessons have been designing their own windmill. In previous lessons, we have investigated the different parts of a windmill, the joining methods we would use, and explored patterns. We recorded these observations in our sketchbooks. We then used acrylic paint to decorate the windmill base using our pattern designs. We used fine paintbrushes to show the patterns and colours.
Today, we decorated the sails with marker pens using our patterns sketchbook page, before joining the parts together with our axle. We then checked our mechanism was working and our structure was stable. What amazing designers you are Maple class!
