Maple class have been learning about the weather and during their DT lessons have been designing their own windmill. In previous lessons, we have investigated the different parts of a windmill and the joining methods and materials we would use.
We explored the work of the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, experimenting with coloured inks and recorded these observations in our sketchbooks. We then used acrylic paint and paint pens to decorate the windmill base using our pattern designs.
Our last step was to join the parts together using an axle. We then checked our mechanism was working and our structure was stable.
What amazing designers you are Maple class!
