This term Larch class have explored many different cave paintings that have been found all around the world, considering the themes, patterns, and colours in the images they could see. They found out how prehistoric people made their paints and thought about why these paintings were created.
Using their sketchbooks, the children experimented with colour and shape, layering, and blending the oil pastels before creating a background using appropriate colours.
Next, the prehistoric animal was added, with a complimentary or analogous colour to outline before the final details were added with charcoal. What fantastic colours and shapes Larch class!
