Ash class have been learning about the famous artist Pablo Picasso, his life and works of art. They found out that not only was he a painter, but he created pottery and wrote poems as well. The children learnt that Pablo introduced cubism to the world and together, they discussed what they liked (and didn’t like) about his artwork.
Using black drawing ink, they experimented with shape and pattern in their sketchbooks, ready to create their own clay sculptures of Pablo Picasso’s famous King and Queen vases. Using different ways to hold the paintbrush and trying various sizes, the children used their observational skills to create what they could see in the picture. What wonderful shapes and marks you have created in your sketchbooks Ash class!
