Dear Parents and Carers,
At St Paul’s, we are more than a school — we are a family. Time and again, I see the incredible support you give to each other, to our staff, and most importantly, to our children.
In November 2024, one of our amazing pupils, James, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at just four years old. Since then, his family and our staff have worked together to support him through daily challenges — from monitoring blood sugar and counting every carb, to managing insulin injections — all while making sure James still gets to be a happy, carefree child.
James’s parents have shown incredible strength and are passionate advocates for all children living with this condition. They have shared the remarkable progress made in Type 1 diabetes research, and the hope it gives them.
That is why I am raising funds for Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF), a charity working tirelessly to improve lives and find a cure. To support this, we will be holding a non-uniform day on Monday 28th April 2025, and we are asking for a £1 donation per child.
Every pound raised will help fund:
- Ground breaking research for better treatments and a cure
- Support for families affected by Type 1 diabetes
- Education and advocacy to improve care and understanding
Thank you, as always, for your kindness and generosity. Together, we can make a real difference — for James, and for so many others.
