Ash class have been exploring the surface of the moon as part of their Moon Zoom unit and learning how to show this in their artwork.

We used chalks and chalk pastels, experimenting with smudging and blending techniques to create different marks and effects. We also looked closely at shapes and discussed how to show texture in our work.

Next, we learnt how to mix different shades of grey using black and white paint. We carefully added small amounts of black paint to the white, taking care not to add too much and make the paint too dark!
