Maple class have been learning about the weather this term and during their DT lessons they learned what a windmill is and the types of materials used to build them. They were challenged to discuss the materials and features of each windmill.
We explored different ways of making windmill bases and sails with paper plates, cups and tape or newspaper scrunched up into balls and masking tape. The children learnt how to join the materials together and make axles allowing sails to spin in the wind.
Didn’t they do well!
