School Improvement Focus: HMI inspection

We have some wonderful news! Just before Christmas you know that we had a visit from Her Majesty’s Inspector Jude Wilson. Her visit was an ‘HMI’ inspection which the school was expecting following our Ofsted inspection last February. The visit involved inspecting Leadership and management, quality of teaching, learning and assessment and the impact of external support we have received.

During her inspection she met with Governors, senior and middle leaders and investigated how effective our work has been in school improvement. She also met with our Inclusion lead, SENCO and Early Years lead. The inspection lasted two days and was rigorous.

The great news is that we felt that she was able to recognise the positive changes made. She agreed with us on our next steps and we were encouraged that we are, very much heading ‘onward and upward’! We were very proud of the staff team of course and would like to say a big well done to them. They have responded brilliantly to all the changes and worked very hard to make sure that this inspection was well organised and evidenced improvements in all areas.

We were so grateful to those of you who expressed your views too. The inspector was impressed with how much you knew about the school and about how much you wanted to share. Thank you all so much for your support. The two days were even busier than usual as they feel in our assessment week and coincided with Bishop Karowei’s visit!  If you would like to read the inspection report we have attached it to this newsletter.

It can also be found on the school’s website following this link:
